Hi there.
Nice to meet you! I’m Kevin (Jin-young), a twin, occasional hooper, and seasonal snowboarder from Utah. I recently graduated from Cornell University (‘23) majoring in Information science with concentrations in UX design and Data science. Currently, I’m a UI/UX designer at Booz Allen Hamilton, designing and prototyping the look and feel of digital products under the suite of the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Growing up in Moab, a small tourist town located in the southern-eastern part of Utah and in the heart of Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, I spent a majority of my childhood outdoors, exploring the red rocky terrain camping, fishing, or hiking. While this small town offered a unique and idyllic childhood, its seclusion also presented its own challenges—access to quality education and opportunities. It wasn’t until my time at Cornell that I discovered the world of technology, and especially UX design. While I initially aspired to become a physician, it wasn’t until I took a UX Design course during college that transformed my outlook on what I wanted to do with my future and career. The idea of crafting digital experiences that could impact and improve people's lives—outside of medicine—fascinated me. It was a revelation that shifted the course of my journey.
Now, 4 years later, I continue to stay at the forefront of HCI research and best practices to craft effective and user-centric digital interfaces and systems that respond to the constantly evolving cutting-edge technology, evolving user demands, and emerging trends.
