Designing Data Management Systems

A three-year embedded role at a large federal defense contractor, working across four agile teams on a case management platform for a government agency.

01. Design System

I co-led maintenance of the design system library, creating and updating components, writing documentation, reviewing engineer-built components against specs, and auditing other designers' work for standards compliance.

02. Data Management UI

Across 4 different agile teams, I worked directly with stakeholders, developers, and project managers to design intuitive experiences for complex data management systems, transforming intricate workflows and processes into clear, easy-to-understand user flows while still allowing users to maintain the depth and functionality required by enterprise systems.

There was also a large emphasis on designing 508 complaint solutions to ensure designs were accessible and usable across all users.

03. AI Integration

04. Notable Contributions

In the final year of this project, I lead a 4 week UX research study with field users to develop an AI document review application that allowed users to accelerate the tedious and time-consuming portion of their workflow. Separated into 5 steps, this AI-assisted review process separated the work that stays human from what the model could offload.

  1. Always cite: Every AI highlight links to the exact passage and page it came from.

  2. Summarize per highlight: A short summary attaches to each highlight, not the document.

  3. Accept or reject fast: Both actions are available on every highlight.

  4. Stay quiet: The AI is ambient, not insistent.

  5. Audit by default: Every accept/reject/edit is logged.

Some of the most useful work crossed team lines. I spearheaded a prototype library built on advanced Figma features: variables for stateful flows, smart animate for continuous motion, and expressions for computed text. I also presented wireframes and prototypes directly to stakeholders and ran weekly UI/UX checkpoints with product and engineering across all four teams.

Digital Twins

Designing solutions that are technically exact replicas of objects, processes, or systems that are directly connected to their physical counterparts through data and information feeds across their lifecycle

01. Designing in 2D & 3D Environments

02. Creating a new design system

In the summer of 2026, I joined a new project and am currently working on designing digital twin solutions, where you can learn more about the project here.

Currently, I am leading the development of our design system from Figma to Unity, utilizing tools like Figma MCP and Code Connect, to ensure designs are being translated from the canvas into the 3D space, 1:1.
